Fort Lauderdale-based Algorhythm Holdings announced that its Indian logistics subsidiary, SemiCab India, has secured a major expansion of its services with the Indian unit of the world’s third-largest consumer packaged goods company, which generates more than $84 billion in annual revenue.
Under the new agreement, SemiCab India will triple the number of transportation routes it manages for the client, initially expanding to more than 40 heavily trafficked routes across India. Future phases are expected to broaden both the geographic scope and number of routes served.
SemiCab also launched a pilot program with the CPG company based on the U.S.-style “drop & hook” freight model, where drivers quickly swap trailers rather than waiting for them to be loaded or unloaded. SemiCab’s AI-powered Collaborative Transportation Platform is designed to overcome India’s infrastructure and technology barriers to this model.
The company says the system can cut truck turnaround times by up to 80% and boost monthly mileage from 3,200 to 5,000 miles per truck, sharply improving shipping margins. The new program goes live in June.
“We are helping pioneer the drop and hook model in India,” said SemiCab CEO Ajesh Kapoor. “It will drive major efficiency gains in the market.”
Algorhythm, also owns Singing Machine, a leading karaoke equipment brand sold in 25,000 stores globally, including Walmart and Target. Through SemiCab and Singing Machine, the company continues to grow its global technology and consumer products footprint.
