Avianca Cargo and Amazon Air Cargo have launched a new partnership with a daily Boeing 767-300F charter service between Bogotá (BOG) and Miami. The agreement is designed to expand cross-border e-commerce and freight capacity between Latin America and the United States — with MIA serving as a primary gateway for Amazon’s growing logistics operations in the region.
The collaboration between Avianca and Amazon underscores MIA’s role as a strategic entry point for U.S.–Latin America trade. The airport already handles the largest volume of U.S. air imports from Latin America and is a growing hub for e-commerce-driven air cargo.
On the passenger side, American Airlines has launched new nonstop service from MIA to Rome (FCO), its fifth European destination from Miami. The route adds to American’s record-setting summer schedule, which includes more than 37,200 flights from MIA between May and September.
American now serves 170 destinations from MIA, 90 of them exclusively, reinforcing the airport’s role as a vital connector between Miami-Dade and key global markets.
