Ras Al Khaimah and the City of Miami have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost collaboration across a range of sectors – from business and tourism to sustainability and innovation.
The agreement was signed in Ras Al Khaimah by Miami Mayor Francis Suarez and by Mohammed Hassan Omran Alshamsi, Senior Advisor to H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah. Sheikh Saud, along with Sheikh Khalid bin Saud Al Qasimi, Vice Chairman of the Investment and Development Office, was present for the signing.
“This agreement opens the door to new ideas, investment, and cultural exchange,” said Sheikh Saud. “It reflects the strong, ongoing relationship between the UAE and the United States and our shared commitment to building a better future.”
The MoU outlines cooperation in key areas such as smart city development, digital inclusion, sustainable planning, public health, and the creative economy. The goal is to exchange best practices and create new opportunities for innovation and growth. Talks also touched on strengthening trade and investment ties, especially given the growing number of U.S. companies operating in Ras Al Khaimah – including Hilton, Guardian Glass, and Caresoft Global.
Mayor Suarez thanked Sheikh Saud for the warm welcome and highlighted the potential of this new partnership. “This agreement marks an exciting step forward for both cities,” he said. By formalizing ties, Ras Al Khaimah and Miami aim to build a forward-looking, globally connected relationship rooted in shared values and ambitions.
